QUESTION: What are some herbs or supplements that you feel are important.  I want something that I can add to their dog food.  I have a 3 year old French Mastiff and a 9 year old french mastiff and boxer mix.  Do you feel tumeric in powder form mix with foods has any benefit for dogs?  Thanks for all your help.

ANSWER: Hi Dan - Well Turmeric is fine if your dogs have arthritis or other inflammation problems.
I use the following with many of my clients :

3.  For a healthy dog - I love to go GRAIN free - My favorited are : Innova EVO : Wellness Core ; and Merrick BEFORE grain -
If you want to go grain free - give your food plus the NEW food and do a 50:50 Mix.
I would do this mix for 3 weeks and then go to grain free-
Or - just continue to feed 1/2 and 1/2 long term.
