Sunflower Oil

Question
Hi,  Do you know if sunflower oil found as an ingredient in California Natural Lamb/Rice dog food is safe for a Golden Retriever with pancreatitis?  She has a long list of food allergies (flax, oat, kelp, alphelpha, pork, poultry, soy) and this food appears to be clear of those things, but I'm concerned that the sunflower oil may effect her pancreatitis.  Any help would be very appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
A dog with pancreatitis needs a limited fat diet.  They still need some fat.  Sunflower falls in with many other vegetable oils in its content of the linoleic acid dogs need.  It could be a good choice for a dog allergic to soy and flax as long the total fat content isn't too high.
