Question
I had a litter of toy poodles a week ago Friday and the 4 pups have been doing well.  This afternoon the tuxedo has been whining and crying for about 3 1/2 hours.  No one touched the pup, but the mother had been laying on him. I tried to get him to feed, but no interest.  Is this something I should be concerned about?  Thanks  I may seem over protective, but he is the tiniest of the litter.

Answer
Hello Lia,
You might observe him for just a bit longer, but if he still isn't eating and still crying, I would get him to a Vet to check him out.  You might also try bottle feeding him.  That way you can make sure he is eating good.  Sometimes the runts will get themselves on a teat, just to be pushed off by a larger pup.  If you have a small scale, you might weigh him and check his weight daily to make sure he is gaining weight.
The formula that you need is called Just Born and you can get it from some feed stores that carry dog products, or some Pet Stores carry it.

If you have other questions about this, please feel free to ask.
Hope this helps you some.
