Question
QUESTION: I have a 2 yr old white lab that has been chewing on his back where his tail meets it. He has chewed and licked it raw in 2 or 3 different spots. What can i do to heal this and prevent this in the future. Thank you for your time and help.

ANSWER: There are no white labs, you have a light colored yellow lab.

This could be due to allergies or flea irritation.  I would take the dog to the vet and have the vet look at it.  There are also other types of skin issues that could cause this problem and you will want the vet to rule out these problems.

QUESTION: Take the dog to the vet? Thats all ya got? This was the biggest waste of time ever. Thank you for being worthless!!

Answer
Honestly, there are so many issues your dog could have that causes the biting that you can't diagnose the problem via an online question board.  Chewing could also mean anal gland issues, mange, fleas, etc.  It could also be just a plain old hot spot and you'd need ointment from the vet to clear it up.  There is no way that I can see if your dog has those problems and this board was not meant to substitute veterinary care.

Sorry you are unhappy.
