Smelly dog

I have a 1 yr old chocolate lab that just stinks to high heaven. I smelled his ears to see if it was an infection but that is not where the smell is coming from. It is coming from his skin. What can I do to make him stop smelling?! It is so terrible I have thought about giving him away.

Try a month of no baths, nearly all of his calories coming from a dry dog chow, and daily brushing with a soft bristle brush.  Also, make sure he isn't rolling in his feces or other stinky stuff.  If he still stinks at the end of a month, I am out of ideas.  Take him to a vet and see what the vet says.
