when are they not a puppy

Question
My dog is half black lab and half coon hound. He is now 5 mths. When are they considered not a puppy and when would they likely be done growing and full size. Thank you!

Answer
At that age, he should have 80-90% of his adult size and most of his adult teeth.  It would be good to switch to adult chow now.  It will slow growth allowing stronger joints to develop.

His personality will not be mature until 3 years old.  At that many dogs lose interest in the puppy biting play and chewing things.
