11 year old black lab eyesight fading fast

about two months ago i noticed bud's eyesight wasn't as strong as it once was. it has now progressed in the last two weeks from partial to possibly compleat blindness.otherwise happy healthy dog who is now adapting.  is this a rare occurrence in this breed,and would there be anything available to help restore even partial vision.

While many older Labs' vision fades, I don't think it usually goes down hill as fast as you describe.  If anything can be done, you would need to work with your vet.  An office call isn't that much.  Each case is different, and something may or may not be possible.  

Dogs do adapt well to losing their vision.
