Nose colour of yellow Labrador

Some days the colour of our lab's nose is very black and other days pinkish.  We have been told that may represent an illness.   Can you offer any advice on this?

I guess there could be some condition where the dog's nose fades, but mostly it has to do with how much sun the dog is getting.  It is unusual for it to quickly come and go.  Usually the nose starts to slowly fade some time in the fall, and then slowly turns black again in the spring.  Does how much you dog is outside change a lot?  

Unless your dog is showing some other symptoms, I would worry about it.
