Dog licking behavior

Question
We have 3 dogs, one is a black lab mix.  Willie's front half is all lab, while his back half looks like who knows what. His rib cage is pronounced with a tail that curves up over his back (like a samoyed).

anyhow, willie is a licker.  He loves to lick our ears, face, arms, legs, toes, you name it.  If we would let him, he would be quite content to lick for long periods of time.

He doesn't lick the other 2 dogs (a newfie mix and a purebred Bichon) however, the Bichon is now starting in with the licking of us as well!

I guess I am just concerned they may be missing something in their diet, bored or something that I can rectify.  I don't mind a few 'kissies', but Willie takes it a lot farther than just a few!

His licking is slow and methodical and it's not a typical sloppy lab kiss.  We have had many dogs (mostly labs, retrievers) and have never had one who is so insistent on the 'kissie' factor.

Any advice or assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance for your time.

Answer
I always thought my friends Golden was a really nice dog.  One day I realized, Isaac never tries to lick you face.  He just stands there and lets you pet or rub him eating the attention up.  The worst thing is nosing under your elbow if you quit long enough to turn the page of what you are reading.  With my Lab puppies, once I finally get them to stop biting, I don't have the heart to correct them for licking.

I don't know what else to suggest for Willie.  A few hundred times of ''No willie, bad dog!'' every time he even starts to lick should stop it.  I wish I had a better answer.

I would leave his diet alone as long as most of his calories come from a dry, comercial dog chow.  Chances are, he is getting exactly what he needs.
