Question
My grandson has a black Lab ,11 years old  I am taking care of him while grandson is gone  He hasn't eaten in a week  Boiled him some chicken and he ate that and then threw it up  Is there any thing I can do?

Answer
Perhaps he is old enough not to expect that he shredded something and what he swallowed is blocking his digestive tract.  He needs to eating his dog chow, not the chicken.  Still, to keep him going until your grandson comes back, try more chicken.  This time only feed him small pieces at a time, so he can't bolt it down whole.  Don't go broke giving him several pounds a day.  If he is the typical Lab, he is over weight and can stand to lose a little.  No problem as long as you can't see his ribs.  You can also try a little boiled potato or rice.
