Question
QUESTION: i have a 1 and a haif year old labrador. i have a plan to breed him does he fights with a female dog

ANSWER: The dog is too young to be bred.  I am not sure how it is in India, but in the USA, the dogs need to pass an extensive list of health clearances before you can breed them, and the major ones such as hips and elbows can't be done until they are over 2 years old.  This means you should not breed before they are over 2 years old.  This needs to be done on both the male and the female.

Regarding the fighting, usually the girl is not receptive to the male being around until she is at her right time in her cycle.  If they are fighting now, they might not have the right temperment to be bred.

QUESTION: Hi,
Thanks for answering my question. But,I guess you did not totally understand what i asked.I feel i should rephrase my question.
Here it goes..
I have a labrador(male) who is one and half years old. What is the best time to take him for mating with a female labrador? Also, please tell me if he will fight with a female dog? Thanks again!

Answer
Did you understand the first part of my previous answer?  Your dog is TOO YOUNG TO BE BRED at the moment.  So there is NO BEST time to take him to the female to breed until he (and the female as well) is over 2 years of age.

The owner of the female will have to run some progesterone tests on their girl to know when it's time to breed.  Have them talk to the vet about this.  When THEY tell you that the bitch is ready, then you take your dog over.  Will they fight?  I don't know.  Have they met before, do they play together now?  There is no telling what two dogs will do in a time of breeding.  That's why many breeders who study this and actually know what they are doing will do artificial insemination.  Some dogs breed together just fine and no fighting, others will seriously hurt each other.  That's why as I asked about the temperment.

And like I said before, I don't know how it is in India, but here in the USA, it is VERY important to make sure dogs have passed health clearances so that they are not passing on genetic problems.

With the dog being too young and you not stating whether these clearances are done in India (although I imagine so as my breeder friends in Europe do the same clearances as we do), I am hesistant to provide you with any information that might lead you to breed the dog immaturely.
