white markings

Question
Hi, i have just recently got a purebred chocolate lab. He has a white marking in the center of his chest. It is almost in a shape of a ribbon or bow. Are white marking's like that likely to go away, or stay on the dog?

Answer
It depends on the size of the spot.  I had a newborn pup with a star on his chest about the size of a thumb print.  By the time he was ready to go home, it was hardly noticeable.  If the spot is large enough and solid white enough, chances it will always remain.

It's common and not a problem.  In fact, even a small white spot is permissible on show dogs!
