dry patch on labs stomach

Question
I have a chocolate lab who has recently developed dry flaky patches on his stomach - Any ideas?

Answer
Could be a few things.  If you use a groomer, you might want to check with them to see if they recognize the patch.  Otherwise, you are best to go to a vet.  It could just be dry skin, but it could be a bacterial or fungal infection, and a skin test will be the only way to tell.

If it's not sore or bothering the dog, you COULD initially try cleaning it with some witch hazel or a vinegar/water mix and then dab on some neosporin.  If it remains or gets worst, it would be time for a vet.
