PROPER CRATE SIZE FOR 8 MONTH OLD YELLOW LAB

20 9:38:34

Question
QUESTION: I JUST NEEDED TO KNOW IF A CRATE MEASURING 30L X 22W X 24 H WOULD BE BIG ENOUGH FOR MY 8 MONTH OLD YELLOW LAB
THANX

ANSWER: A smaller Lab would have room to stand up and stretch out.  If it fits fairly well now, it should be OK as an adult.  If you are thinking of flying him, the crate must be high enough for him to hold up his head.  I think the airlines are wrong about it, at least for shorter flights, but they make the rules.

An average to large Lab may need a bigger crate.

QUESTION: about feeding the dog im refrencing the bag of food wich specifies to feed my dog 25-50lbs 2 1/4 to 4 cups a day
that seems like such a small amount since i feed her twice a day   any input?

Answer
What the bag says is only a starting point.  Evaluate the dog as illustrated in this link, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx You may want the vet to confirm your judgment. Adjust the dogs food and exercise as needed to reach its ideal body condition.

Many of my smaller Labs have done fine on about 3 cups of pro Plan.
