Red ears inside

Question
My 3 years old lab has the inside of his ears blotchy red. What is the reason and how do I treat it. Thank you Miroslav

Answer
Most medical problems I leave to the vet, as do most other dog experts.  If it is mostly towards the edges and away from the ear canal, it could be ear mites.  You could try applying an oil to the red areas.  Baby oil, mineral oil, cooking oil, almost any common oil will work.  It coats the mites pores and smoothers them.  If it isn't better by next week, call the vet.
