QuestionI just picked up my lab this Sat. Began to kennel train him that night. The problem is that he barks, not whine, barks most of the night. I come home for lunch, and I let him out in the middle of the night. I am just concerned that he barks so much , like he is not taking to his kennel. Is that normal?
AnswerUsually they cry. About the same thing, he may have never spent a night by himself. At that age, he should adjust fairly quickly. I have never had much luck with the old clock or radio tricks. What I do is lay down by the crate like I was going to sleep there. Usually a puppy may fuss a little, but then settle down and go to sleep. Once it is asleep, you can get up and go to bed.
