Car Traveling LAB restraints

Hi

We have a 5 month old Lab and want to start taking her on trips in the car.  What kind of car restraints are recommended?  I have seen a few advertised models:  Ruff Rider  Roadie, Canine Auto and others.  I am just wondering what woud be the best or what have others used and feel satisfied with or what should I look for in my research before purchasing.

Air bags can kill dogs.  Loose dogs flying forward can kill people.  I have never used any of the restraints.  I teach my dogs to ride in the footwell.  It is a fairly safe place.  

I know some of my friends have the restraints, but not sure what they have.  Sorry I am not much help on this.
