Husky Neutering/Sleeping Question

Question
Hi: Here is the set up.

It's a cold winter day today in Wisconsin. I have two Siberian huskies, one female, one male, they normally sleep out side and LOVE being outside. Today our male was neutered. Just got him back from the vets, and the poor guy is really out of it.

The vet said he should stay inside for sleeping over the night for up to seven days. This seems impossible because he hates being indoors, and my other dog goes crazy when they aren't together.

Where should we keep him during the night? He is supposed to take it easy but he refuses to relax or sleep indoors. There is snow on the ground and it is cold. They had dog igloos with fresh straw for bedding. Is it imperative he be kept inside or is this overly cautious?

Answer
The vet is probably having his stay inside, because the first night you need to watch him to be sure he has no bad reaction the the anesthesia, Siberians are very sensitive to it and can die if givin an improper dose even hours later after coming out of it. I am sure the rest of the time is to keep the stitches dry to prevent infection (the snow). If you have a shed or your garage is dog proof (no anti freeze laying about to poison them) you can keep him there.
