Question
I have a one and a half year old male husky. We brought him to our house when he was 6 months, since that day he never likes stay inside the dog house for nothing, he don't like sleep or be shelter when is raining. Instead, he prefers sleep outside and get soaked wet every time its raining.

How can I training him for use the dog house? I tried put some snacks inside the dog house but he just go and eat it and go out flying again. Also, I would like you tell me if it true that the huskies are vicious dogs like somebody tell me one time.

Thank you, Nitza

Answer
Dear Nitza,
Your husky is just like all the huskies I have ever had. So dont worry this is perfectly normal behaviour. I even spent $1000 on some nice new kennels and like you I encouraged them with treats to sleep inside of them. But it seemed, just like your dog, they prefered to sleep outside getting covered in ice and water. After all this is where they are perfectly at home curled up in the snow in thier homeland in Siberia. Trust me they might look wet on thier top coat, but inside they will be dry and as warm as toast. Huskies are no fools and will seek shelter if they do get too uncomfortable.
As to the statement about huskies being vicious that could not be further from the truth. In the Eskimo villages where they originated any husky who showed aggression was immediately culled. These pups were the playthings of the children so viciousness was not tolerated. As a consequence of this, this breed has attained a very human friendly nature. After all these guys have to work with people in some very extreme conditions, so friendliness is a must.
I hope this has helped you understand your dog better.
