Safe to release Siberian Husky Pups?

20 9:12:42

Question
When are Husky pups safe to be released from their mother? If they are released a bit too early, is it harmfull to the puppy?

Answer
Generally the rule of thumb is 8-9 weeks.  Any earlier and the dogs will often have the most trouble with bite inhibition.  While this can be solved by human interaction, the mother often does it much better than humans can.  There are important socialization skills that are learned in the 5-7 week range with their littermates, and you don't want to skip that.  Dogs released too early (before 7 weeks) often have difficult social skills with other canines.

Hope that helps.
