Nervous Aggression

Question
Ken, my great dane who is 10 months old seems to have developed a nervousness / disliking of strangers since she was scared by a child at 6 months old. We have done some gentle controlled socialisation as advised by behaivourist with children since and she seems to be improving (doesn't even bat an eyelid when we see them out walking) however for some reason she is getting worse with strangers, usually those visiting the house and we can't understand this. She has tried to pinch/nip a two visitors for no reason, one was ignoring her as i told them to until she had settled down and the other person had been there for hours and she was fine with them but snapped when the went to sit down next to me. We really can't understand what is happening or why. When this has happened she is told NO firmly and put outside. Is this the correct reaction or are we aggravating the situation? This is becoming upsetting as although we know we can never trust her fully around children we are now wondering if we can trust her full stop with other people!! Help.

Answer
Putting her outside will not cure the problem.  She is getting over protective and jealous.

It is a great shame but people will never learn that children and dogs do not mix.  Puppies get easily scared and scarred for life.

You need to stick with your behaviourist.
