Question
Hi, Thank you for your speedy response to my food question! I've since changed him to Canidae All life stage food. with 24$% protein.

My next question is...I have a 1 year old male dog and my 10 week old great dane is showing dog aggression towards him! He has shown his teeth..growled and actually lunged at him several times. Other times they will lay together and be fine. The older dog is ALWAYS friendly and gentle with the puppy. How do i curb this behavior? He's only 10 WEEKs old and already showing dog aggression.. Its causing a LOT of concern.. Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.

Answer
Anytime the puppy lunges or growls, he needs to be corrected if your older dog is not already correcting him. Because puppies are very growly and aggressive within their litter, sometimes they have a tendency to think that they can pick on the new dog in the house-hold as well.

Most older dogs will not tolerate it but if you have a very passive older dog, he will just sit there and take it.  If this is what is occurring,  then you need to be the one to correct the puppy. Either tell him "no" or use another sound to distract him from doing the behavior. You can also put him in time out if he starts to do it and this is something that will have to be repeated so that he understands he will get removed if he continues this behavior. Starting some basic obedience classes would also be beneficial for him.

Hope this helps.
