children allergies with danes

We are about to get a harlequin dane in the next 2 weeks and just found out our 2 year old daughter is allergic to pet dander.  We are not sure if we should wait or if we should give the puppy a chance and see how our daughter does around the puppy.  Any suggestions?

Don't get a puppy to try it out then have to re-home it.  It is like passing a child round from foster home to foster home.  It can have the same mental effect.  Try your daughter out on a friends dog and if she is OK then get a puppy.

Dogs are for life not just as long as they are convenient.
