Question
I have a blue great dane I rescues 4 years ago when I rescued him he had a severe infection in his left back leg we tried for 3 months to heal the infection to no avail we ended up taking his back leg off in order to save his life he has been great until a week ago his front paws starting turning under and his left front leg started twitching he has been at the vets on predenizone and rimadyl he is a little begtter but not 100% he can stand up by himself now before he could not his left front paw still turns under a little the leg twitches some time not all the time like before he is 8 years old and had a lot of trauma my question is do you know if there is any type of brace we can get for him? please any info you can offer i would like to hear

Answer
Do you honestly feel that he would be accepting of a brace at this age, and in his condition without being stressed more than he will be by learning to deal with his disability? Do you have him on supplements? He should be on chondroiten and glucosamine, as well as fifteen hundred mgs of vitamin c broken into three doses per day, vitamin E, adult human dose per weight, omega fish oil supplements, b complex and bone meal. Has the vet determined the cause for the problems in his front legs? I'll do some research into braces while you get back to me with answers to my questions. You're doing a great job for this boy. Kudos to you for the rescue and for loving him
