Question
WE HAVE 5 ALMOST 4 WEEK OLD PUPPIES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO PARVOL THEY ARE ON ANTI-BIOTIC . WHEN CAN I GET THEN THE FIRST SHOTS ? THE 7 IN 1 TO BE EXACT.

Answer
They are too young for shots yet.  If they have been exposed, it will likely not manifest itself for a few days or even a couple of weeks.  I know a breeder who had it in her kennels and she lost all her pups.  She gave them antibiotics and fluids as well but it did not save them.  This is very serious - you need to get them to the vet asap.  Was the mother exposed?  Have they shown any signs of parvo yet?  They will need IVs and antibiotics if they are positive for parvo.  Generally pups can survive with intensive treatment but not all will - some say about 80% will survive but if not treated properly, at least 80% will die.  And they may have health issues later in life.  Truly you need a vet's help with this.  Parvo is a terrible way for a pup to die and young ones can develop heart muscle problems and die suddenly.  The vet can test for parvo as well although it may take a couple of times to be sure they do not have it.  There is no cheap alternative here even if they do not have it - the tests really need to be done.  Also, if you have never dealt with parvo, it is contagious and you must keep everything clean and use bleach and clean constantly.  Especially keep the area where the babies poop clean.  Parvo virus can remain alive in your home for up to 9 months.  Let me know if I can help and best of luck!
