Question
Hi im not looking for detailed answers but i just want to know what the purpose of DNA testing in Daschunds are, and is it a good idea to get puppies that have been tested, as i have been interested in a litter but unfortunatly havent been tested.

Answer
DNA testing is done by breeders so that they know the history and background of the dogs they are breeding.  It helps so that you know what coats are in the history, what health issues may have been common, etc.  Of course, you have to have an person be honest with you about it.  Some dogs can carry genetic issues that they do not show signs of but the pups can be affected.  To be registered as a purebred, some require DNA testing for verification of lineage.
