hi, i would like to ask a question. i hv a male miniature dachshund. he only vaccinate parvo. when he was 1months old.
but, we dunno when to let him vaccinate distampers.
so, he suffered distampers. now he cant walk. i am very sad.
this is my 1st time to rear a dog. sorry if my languange is messing. i just want to know wheter he can walk again or no.
the vet here. ask me to think wheter want to let him sleep in peace or no. bcoz, vet has give up. but i havnt. he is only 6months old. i love him. we have to feed him everyday n mop his body when he piss. now, he only sleep.
he cant mobilize. pleas help me.

Unfortunately, it is not likely he will be able to walk since distemper can cause paralysis.  If you love your pets, you have to get them vaccinated because they rely on their owners to take care of them.  Puppies start getting vaccinated at 6 weeks and then 8 weeks and then at 12 weeks old.  Whoever vaccinated against parvo should have known that.  If you know nothing about owning puppies or dogs, pick up a book and learn as much as you can before getting one.  It will help you a lot and your little one will not have to suffer like this.  I am very sad for the little guy, but I cannot give you any advice - it is a decision you have to make.  It is not likely he will live a long life and not a healthy one.  You can get a second opinion from another vet if that would help.  Distemper is often fatal and incurable.  I am sorry that this not much help, but you have to do what is best for him and not for you.  I had to put my best friend down 2 months ago and I desperately wanted to hold onto him but when I calmed down after the very bad news, I realized he was suffering and was only given 2 - 3 months to live and I had to do what was best for him, not for me.  It is the hardest thing I ever did to let him go and I still get upset when I think about him.  But I did everything I could for him and would have gone into debt more if needed so I know how sad you are, but again, get another opinion and read about distemper on the internet if you need to.
