Little Angels (Not) ha
QUESTION: Hello wow! I never knew such a site existed and do I have questions!!!!! First I have many many behavioral issues with my little darlins and not sure how this works. So my first question is should I put them all on here at once which would take prob 4 pages explaining? Or is there somewhere to send a detailed email? Or post questions one by one? Thanking you in advance. Jasmine

ANSWER: Post them one by one so I can keep up and not miss answering anything.  Are those your babies?  Very cute - I love the black and tans but I ended up adopting reds!

QUESTION: Yes those are my little angels aka devils ha. I had a 14yr old male doxie and when he was 12 we got Molly from a relative that has 5 of them and she came from that litter as a wedding gift. Well my male was never a barker never destroyed anything and other than the occasional leg hike he was the perfect dog! So I thought when we were offered another one it would follow suit boy was I wrong. Molly had to be revived when she was born so I jokingly blame all her issues on lack of air. She has always been very destructive clingy and loud. She cannot be left alone for one second or she destroys everything from furniture to blinds you name it. The problem got worse when my husband got deployed and she started peeing on couches and the beds. I finally figured that was because she was devastated as I was that he was gone when one day while we were on the webcam she heard his voice and peed right on my lap. It was then I knew it wasnt intentional. Btw this is before the 2 babies came along. She barks at everything and nothing, we kid and when theres nothing apparently around and shes going crazy we say oh well Molly must have heard a butterfly fart so that set her off ha. Ive tried self training, rewarding, bark collars even a spray bottle to no avail. It drives me crazy and now she gets the other 2 started up so its a constant barkfest with me reaching for the excedrin. So guess these are enough to start with dont want to overwhelm you but is all this normal behavior or did I just get extremely "lucky" ? Also when someones at the door even me forget it its a 15min barking ordeal and they charge everyone I hate that and it scares my grandkids. Dont get me wrong I love them all to pieces! any advice is very appreciated

Answer
Extreme separation anxiety is not typical, mild can be.  They are very different in personalities that is for sure.  I have a clinger and he has gotten better but it has taken years.  There are some herbal remedies that can help with calmness.  Try searching for a reputable holistic vet in your area.  They can evaluate her and give her herbal remedy.  They are licensed vets but also do herbs and oils rather than traditional medicines that may have side effects.  If that is not an option, there are medications (natural) that you can order on the Internet but your vet should be able to prescribe something too.  I had a foster that was very bad when he was placed and they got him some calming meds and he was a whole different dog. There are also several resources on the Internet for behavioral issues that you can read to give you some ideas.  Severe anxiety needs to be a process.  Here are some websites that will help give you ideas.  You can search for others.  The first is from the ASPCA.
