Spots on my mini-doxie puppy!

Dear Cindy,

I am a new owner of a mini-doxie puppy, about 4 months old, and the dog was bought at a puppy boutique with a very clean bill of health.

About 2 1/2 weeks later, I recently noticed some discolorations suddenly occur on his underbelly, near his hind legs on both the right and left side.

I am very concerned, as I have not seen such a thing, and noticed it today after giving him a puppy bath.

I give him puppy vitamins in the morning, he gets lots of excesise, he runs around wagging his tail, so he does not seem to be in any pain, and the spots don't seem sensitive to the touch. he did lay in the sun a few times, but I'm not sure that would cause it.

They almost look like bruises, and I am concerned.

Maybe you can help? I really am unsure about what these blotchy spots, bruises?, or marks could be.

Take him to your vet and have him checked.  I have seen this type of discoloration with fungus/yeast infections.  I fostered a hemophiliac doxie that bruised very easily.  For that type of dog, any injury can be life threatening.  Better to have the baby checked.  let me know how it goes!
