8 month old Doxie

Question
We got our 8 month old LH doxie in December. Since that time we have been trynig to potty train her. She gets taken outside and walked every hour to two hours and she will sometimes go outside, but it never fails...when she comes back in the house she pees or poops.  On anything and everything. She pees and poops on the carpet, hardwood floors, linoleum, bath mats, and beds. She sleeps with us on the beds...why does she also poop and pee there?! I have had dogs in the past and have NEVER had this problem.  I have always understood that dogs won't (unless they simply cannot hold it any longer) mess their beds. But she will specifically jump up on the bed to pee...I have watched her do it! I then scolded her and took her outside but she continues to use our beds as her litter box. I am tired of washing bedding. I have tried crating her when we are gone and she even pees and poops in there. I have sprayed neutralizer on everything but it doesn't stop her. Nothing is sacred. Other than this problem, she is a wonderful dog and loving companion but I am at my wit's end and thinking of getting rid of her before she completely ruins the carpet throughout our home. Any suggestions? Anyone want a weiner dog?

Answer
I have a friend who is a marvel at housetraining and has taken many of our rescue dogs and worked with them.  Have you tried training to puppy pads?  It seems more like she is telling you something rather than a true understanding problem.  When it gets like this, a lot of times she is unhappy about being left alone, unhappy with the home life (is there a lot of stress there?), or something along those lines.  My boy was mad at me and peed on me - it was quite a shock - he jumped on the bed and peed on my back.  He was telling me something - he was unhappy with me.  He did it the next day and then has never done it again.  I have had him for years now.  So I would start with considering her state of mind, then try puppy pads.  Is there another doxie there for her to be with while you are gone?  Are gone for long periods?  She may be a dog that needs someone home frequently.
