Question
Father got to daughter. She had 4 puppies. Will there be problems?

Answer
There can be.  Often the issues are genetic and not physically outward signs (like birth defects which are more obvious).  These can include increased infant mortality, slower growth rate, smaller adult size, loss of immune function and other possible problems.  This is one reason why it is so important to have your dogs altered.  It improves their health and prevents accidental breeding.  My suggestion is this:  since it has already happened and you allowed her to go through the pregnancy and birth,  make absolutely sure the pups are neutered and spayed by keeping them till they are 5 months old (some vets will sterilize earlier if needed) OR making sure whoever adopts them out signs a contract and puts down a fee for altering that you will reimburse when proof of altering OR send the pups to dachshund rescue.  I have worked in dachshund rescue many years and no reputable rescue will allow them to be adopted out before altering them.  This will prevent them from passing their genetic problems on to their own offspring.  Sometimes a genetically defective dog will not show much but the offspring will be the ones who carry the burden of the problems.  I placed a rescue puppy in a similar situation and she appeared perfectly normal but as she grew up her legs were crooked and her head was too small.  I was careful where I placed her so her family did not care - they loved her.  I hope that helps!
