Diarrhea

Question
Hello. My miniature (almost)2yo dachshund has had diarrhea since Monday (It is now Wednesday.) He weighs just under 12 pounds. He has been acting normal, and over the last 2 days it went from being complete liquid to just loosened stool and then a "squirt" of diarhhea afterwards. I am beginning to worry as he has never had this happen before. I am wondering if I should take him straight to the vet or if there is something I can try at home? He HATES the vet, and I hate having to put him through going there. But I will absolutely do it if that is what I need to. Please help!

Answer
Feed a bland diet - chicken and rice is good for a day.  You can also give a little pepto bismol.  That is what I would do for mine.  If it does not get better, take him to the vet or take a stool sample to have him checked for worms so that he does not have to go yet.
