Feline hazing?

Question
Hello,

So I had two cats: a black cat (9 years) and a calico cat (3-4 years). I don't know the breeds of either.

About 3-4 months ago we took in another cat that was a couple years old.

Black cat= Bee
Calico= Boo
New Cat = Merlin

Bee seems to get along well with Merlin, but Boo won't stop harassing Merlin. My family is puzzled because we would have thought Boo would have accepted Merlin by now. We knew he'd have problems at first but figured he would warm up to Merlin. Boo is still attacking and trapping Merlin and hissing at him.

Merlin doesn't hit Boo back or anything and usually just waits until someone saves him. We're wondering what's going on with Boo

Answer
Hi Hayden,

Boo is obviously less accepting to a new resident in his home.  This usually has to do with a more dominant personality.  I have a proven introduction method that I always advise people use.  Please search 'Introductions' in my answers for a detailed description of how to introduce.  I know you already have, but when there are issues, I emphasize to go back to square one and separate them for awhile and then introduce as if the first time.  You always introduce smell first and to one cat at a time not both.  The slower the better, and always only *supervised* short visits that always end on a positive note.  You may have introduced too fast and/or started leaving them together unsupervised too soon and Boo learned he can get away with asserting his dominance over Merlin, and Merlin being the submissive personality, Boo's bad behavior is reinforced by him getting away with it.  Please read my previous answers regarding reintroductions and let me know if you have further questions.
