How do you tell the sex of a cat?  How young can you tell?

Often the easiest time to sex new kittens is right at birth.  After that, it can get difficult for a week or two and then easier, again.

A male kitten has what looks like an upside down exclamation point  !  under it's tail.  A female kitten has what looks like a colon  :  under it's tail.

It does take some experience to catch on until they are a bit older.
