stray kitten found

I found this stray kitten in my garage over the weekend.  Seems to be very young... maybe 4 weeks.  I got it using chicken and it ate that very well.  Didn't know how to drink water from a bowl, but finally got that and drink alot.  We now have him (I think him) in the house.  Completely covered in seed ticks and appears to have no lower lip.  He drinks kitten replacement milk and soft canned food without a problem.  I'm concerned of diseases with the lower lip.  It looks clean, not infected, not an open wound, just very weird.

I don't know of many cat diseases that start so young and affect a kitten's lower lip. He may have had an abcess though. I would get your vet to give him a good going over. The ticks worry me. He can get some diseases from them. I'm glad he is eating and drinking good though. Make sure he is warm. Make a nest for him with a nice blanket or towel he can crawl in. You can also set a heating pad up under a towel for him. Just make sure he has some area to get off were there is no heat so he can keep cool if he needs to. Warmth and food is what he needs now. And a trip to the vet. Good luck and take care.
