pregnant cat given distemper vaccine

Question
Hi Karen--
I am new to cat rescue, and I have a pregnant female from a local shelter who was given a three-way distemper vaccine on 2/19, before they detected that she was pregnant. It was definitely the modified live virus vaccine that she received, not the killed virus. She also got a rabies shot. She still has not given birth, although she's getting bigger every day and I could feel fetal movement two days ago. I think she'll give birth in the next week, she has enlarged nipples and milk in the ducts closest to her tail. What are the chances that the kittens will have cerebellar hypoplasia when they are born? Thanks,
Anne

Answer
Hi Anne,

Here's a link that answers this better than I could.

It sounds like she might have gotten her vaccines far enough along the pregnancy that it won't hurt the kits. Here's a link about CH.

Hopefully all will be well. Good luck and take care.

Ciao, Karen
