Yeast infection on skin

Question
I was told by my vet my alspo 14 yrs old has a yeast infection on her skin. She itches all the time. I give her a bath once a week. That helps with the itching for a few days. She gets this order about her. And every thing she lays on smells like that. I have to wash her bedding every week also. She doesen't have fleas. Even the meds the vet gave her didn't help. So I don't give them to her any more. She was on them for 8 years. I would like her to have a few good years without itching.
