QuestionQUESTION: my australian shepherd has a cyst in the rectal area, our vet confirmed it, but said do not know if cancerous or not, watching if it gets larger, dog is 2 yrs old, they suggest surgery, any alternatives for it thanks
ANSWER: Hi Collen, I am wondering if they can at least do a puncture biopsy. This is very non invasive with a small needed. That way they can figure what you are dealing with.
I would not just go in and cut it out.
Also, I would sure get another opinion in a situation like this.
Most people would get another vet to look at your kid.
I would be glad to help with supplements and oils. Also, a good food is a plus -
What are you feeding now: food brand and flavor????
Any supplements and oils???
What were the signs that led you to the vet for an exam? ANY Blood?
More info would be helpful...
Thanks

QUESTION: i am responding to the answer you sent about my 2 yr old dog having a cyst in the rectum area. The vet thought there was no use in draining it for she said there will be some liquid but it will fill up again. She implied it could be cancerous. It cost 140.00 just for her to look at it. I know you suggested a second opinion but it really adds up. Do you think it should be removed? Are there any alternatives to treating this by disolving it or drying it up. thank you colleen
Answercorrected answer: Sorry, I sent you an answer for a 17 yrs old cat:
dog with cyst:
Sounds like you may need to remove it. YOU could watch it and see if the size changes, it may absorb itself on it's own.
I could suggest a few good supplements to aide in your dogs health and healing...
