Question
We just adopted an 8 week old EBD (female) 3 days ago and have noticed a red rash on her belly. It is small red bumps that do not seem to be painful or hot to the touch. Could this be from the grass pricking her belly when she goes potty? What can we do to keep this from getting worse? We have been putting neosporin and/or Vaseline on it to keep it from drying out. Do you know anything about Malaseb spay? Is that an option?

Thank you

Answer
Hi Dottie - BEST wishes on this new additon.  Yes, it may be an allergy to grass and environmental ( dirt, grass, pollens,.....).
Please don't use Vaseline or neosporin on the areas.
How about the following - this should help and if not, please see your local vet.

1.  give this baby an Oatmeal Bath with dog or puppy oatmeal shampoo.
Just 1 bath every other day for 1 week.  AFTER that just 3 baths per month.
In between baths you can use a Waterless Dog Foam bath : the Miracle Coat folks make a nice waterless dog foam bath.

2.  please get this kid onto the NuVET wafers or Powder / NuVET is great for all the body's systems but Main - Skin and coat healing with an Allergy Blaster - this is all Natural and will help to fight off the allergies your kid is experiencing.

Please call NuVET today and ask for the POWDER or WAFER of the NuVET PLUS-
1 teaspoon mixed into some WET dog food OR 1 wafer per day ...
YOUR baby should love the NuVET Wafer treats.
This is Holistic and not sold in any stores:

Don't put anything on the areas.  Just the Oatmeal Bath and the NuVET dog Supplements.
I bet in less than 2 weeks the area will be much better.
