Heartworm nosode

Question
Dear  NuVet & Marie; I have a 5 week old  Argentine Dogo.I normally wouldn't adopt a pup this young but the dam rejected the litter after less than 4 weeks. She's doing great, already had her first visit with a holistic vet we ALL love.(she didn't even have worms!) My question is ; where can I find the heartworm nosode Dr. Rocque recommended at a cost the won't break the bank? We are feeding her a high quality raw diet including brewers yeast & garlic & using natural insect repellents. She's going to be a big dog & that requires more of everything. Any help would be sincerely & gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Mary!
Your question went to the pool. Are you living in high risk infection area? Lots of mosquitoes?
Vit B1, garlic and yeast are emitted through pores for people but do to dogs having sweat glands in their pads and tongue it is a bit different with repelling insects. But good job on using as it will build and enhance immunity. Keep him indoors during dusk and late hours when mosquitoes are feeding.
I would give him optimal home prepared diet of freshest and organic ingredients specifically designed for dogs. Keep his internal environment as healthy as possible to ward off infection and disease.

Herbs used that have not shown very promising studies are actually toxic as well, they are black walnut and wormwood. If you opt for that route, know it is toxic and should be done under vet supervision.
Personally if you are in a high risk area, ivermectin given every four (sometimes you can stretch to six weeks) is recommended. You can enhance his immunity and side effects of that with microalgae.
I worked for a homeopath and did an internship at a homeopathic hospice and they could not recommend the nosode.
