chronic allergy in a cat

Question
My cat is 10 yrs old and has developed chronic allergies, I have taken her to the vet and he gave me allergy pills for her, cloratrematon, and he gave her a steroid shot.  It last for about a week or so and then she is back with the weezy snorty sounds.  I don't want to put her on long term steroids which is what they suggested.  I would like an alternative, the allergy pill helped very little.  I gave her a benadryl last night and she slept great and was able to breath through her nose, she has had a complete blood profile for older kitties and the vet said her blood was great, that it didn't reflect and older cat.  I changed her food, and she is no longer doing the obsessive grooming, by the way I live in the deep south, Mobile AL, and every thing is blooming.  Any suggestion would be appreciated

Answer
Hello,

First off, I hope that you have changed her food to something like Solid Gold's Indigo Moon or to a raw food diet. Especially avoid wheat, corn, soy, dairy and beef.

Try adding locally produced raw honey to her diet/ apx. 1/2 tsp. per day. Also, a company called Herbsmith has an allergy blend called Clear Aller-Chi that is excellent. You may also wish to research Homeopathy.

If your own research fails to eliminate the problem successfully, I would recommend contacting Dr. Gerald Wessner at 352-245-2025.  He is and excellent homeopath and will most likely be able to help.

Regular medicine just further compounds the problem, so I would avoid it.

I have products available at my shop if you would like to call me at 727-327-2356. I do not as yet have things available on-line.

Keep me posted.
