Question
QUESTION: I have a 11 month old boston terrier that has demodex mites. It is now on about 1/4 of her body.  she is fed nutri source pet fodd and raw vegetables and given vita puppy tabs. Scratches till raw every night. Any suggestions, please?  Thank you

ANSWER: Hello Chris,
As you may know, demodex is a puppy mite that is activated by a stressed or low immune system and very often occurs during a growth spurt, as a result of a vaccine response causing immune deficiency, or other toxins in the body causing toxic overload.
Nutri-source is a good food, but I would recommend putting her on a grain free, fish based food if that is not the Nutri-Source formula, or better still, a quality, frozen raw food diet such as Northwest Naturals (chicken and salmon formula), Steve's Eco Diet (chicken formula), B.A.R.F chicken formula, or Raw Health. There are other brands of frozen, raw diets available, but I have found these to be the best quality for the best price. The raw foods will bring her into proper upper PH the fastest plus the fact that they are not processed/heated means that they contain active essential enzymes. These are vital to the effectiveness of the immune system.

The next thing I would recommend is to eliminate ALL chemicals from the system including any and all chemical flea treatments, internal chemicals like Comfortis, etc. These only serve to further poison the body and ravage the immune system. There are natural alternatives to all of these including heartworm prevention. (Call me on my business phone: 727-327-2356 if you want more info.)

The third thing that is very useful for mange is, instead of using poison dips, go to www.critteroil.com and order Critter Oil. Make the shampoo and spray formulas and bathe her twice a week for the first couple of weeks then once a week thereafter, and spray her daily in between.

I have eliminated mange on dogs that have been fighting it for months using vet methods in just a few weeks just by following the above instructions.

I would also recommend doing the research on the harmful effects of vaccines.

Well, that's it.  It's not as difficult or hopeless as it may seem right now. Remember that nature was made to work. For every natural problem there is a natural solution (and it's a whole lot less expensive and safer than the human method of "fighting" nature.)

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer.  I will change her food and ordered critter oil.  She has had no vaccines or any chemicals dips or oral chemicals because I know the dangers of that stuff. I was wondering if I should give her something for her immune systems and do you think a natural wormer because she is always licking that area, if so what one do recommend?

Answer
Glad to hear you don't vaccinate or use other toxins.  There are a couple of immune system boosting products on the market that are very good and would probably be beneficial. I'm sure you can find them on-line if you can't find either locally. Just try one at a time. One is: N K-9 an herbal supplement out of Australia, and the other is HerbSmith's immune system booster which is based on Chinese Medicine. Both are outstanding.

As for natural wormers, the Organic form of Diatomaceous Earth is outstanding as a natural wormer, and there are several homeopathic and herbal wormers available as well. I have these currently available at my shop if you'd like to call me at 727-327-2356.

Any other questions, let me know.  I'd be glad to help.
