sleeping black moor?

Question
Hi, I got my black moor (Tobi) this weekend, he's in a tank with another orange fantail, they get along fine but today i've noticed him sitting on the bottom a lot. It's always in the same spot. He's also attacking one of the plants. I dont know if these two things are connected. Could he just be resting?
Thanks,
Holly

Answer
HiYa!

Goldfish do not swim constantly, they do rest. You should only be concerned should he do this for days at a time and also stops eating.

As for attacking plants, fish eat plants, so he's probably testing it out to see if he likes the taste of it or not. Plants are a healthy part of a fish diet, so if you don't want your real plants eaten, I'd suggest removing them and replacing them with fake ones!

Cheers! Rach
