Black Molly dying?

Question
Hi Krista, our only Black Molly is dying , I think. It breaks my heart every day to see him. For about a week and a half now, he's had a white spot near his tail. Ick, (I'm not a fish person)we think, so we put in the medicine. My questions for you are, why isn't the med. clearing it up and why is he going 'round and 'round, up and down, getting stuck in the bubbles, and acting like he can't make it to the top? He's eating good, but, I have to turn on the bubbles and put food over him so it will go down to him. He swims some, but mainly "twirwls" or sits on the bottom. Everyone else seems fine. Can you help us? My poor ole'heart can't take it! Thanx, Janie

29 Gal. Tank
4 Angels
2 Algae Eaters
1 Sunset something-looks alot like the Molly
1 smaller Platy
2 "Albino Bottom Feeders?"
and the Black Molly. We did have 3.

Answer
I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

It sounds like Fungus rather than ick. If your fish has ick it will look like someone sprinkled salt or sugar all over it. You will most likely have to pick up a medicine directed towards fungus rather than ick.  He is going round and round and not acting like himself because he is sick.

Do at least a 50 percent water change to help clear up the water clean water will help. Don't change out all the water as it will eliminate the nitrogen cycle that is needed by the other fish. You may want to set up a quarantine tank with a heater and filter (if you can) and treat the molly seperately.
