Question
hi, i was wondering if you knew anything about crawfish/dad?like how big they get or how ling they live? what they eat?

Answer
Hi Ruben,
Well, that depends on the species. The most common ones available around here are the blue Crayfish. Most crayfish mature at around maybe 5-6 inches roughly. Unfortunately most crayfish live only for a few years, just depending upon their care. Crayfish eat just about anything they can scavenge off the bottom. They should not be forced to forage off from leftovers alone, however. They like anything from all kinds of fish food, flakes, tablets, pellets, frozen foods, little chunks of shrimp and similar food. They love algae wafers and other vegetable-like foods. I've found they love Zuchinni also and they may also nibble lettuce also. And also, any chance they get, they'll catch small and slow fish.

I've found this excellent article that may tell you everything you need to know. Maybe better than I can explain here-

Crayfish appreciate their own aquarium. Some fish take all their food or pick on them when they shed their exoskeleton. And because crayfish may try to catch fish they are best suited to their own tank with plenty of hiding places and areas to climb.

Crayfish are really great aquatic pets and are a joy to watch!

I really hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Karen~
