Question
do you think a common snook could live in a freshwater fishtank? I was just wondering.

Answer
Hi Tom
I used to live in Florida, and I remember a lot of the guys talking about going snook fishing.  I'm not that familiar with those kinds of fish.  But I did look up a few sites.  For the common snook, I would say no, just because of their size.  This site I found says they can get up to about 30 lbs....Interesting though, I thought they were strictly salt water, but apparantly they can handle fresh water for some time.  But, I don't think they could handle strictly fresh water, like in a tank.

The other types of snook only grow to about 18 inches.  They may fair better in a tank because they're considerably smaller, but there's still the issue of them living in a fresh water tank.  Don't think they would survive very long.  Here's that link I was looking on:

Hope that helps!
