Ok so i have a female betta and a male crown tail i have had te mtgeeter for half an hour earlier they were showing interest in each other now the male will approac and the female will back off and the female will approach but the male will back off wat do i do?

Answer
Anna,
The female will not be ready until she likes the bubble nest. It could be hours before the breeding starts. Patients is needed but sometimes they are not interested in each other. IF she is ready, put her back and let them do what they do. I have pairs that take 2 days to get everything done. Just make sure you are with them the whole time she is in the tank with the male so you can remove her if things get too aggressive. Also, make sure the male was by himself in the breeding tank for at least 2 days so that he can claim his "territory". Once he has been in the breeding tank for 2 days, you then place the female tank next to the males tank for at least a day. Then she gets moved into the breeding tank in a glass jar or hurricane lamp cover. This continues to keep her safe while encouraging the male to build the nest. The breeding tank has to be no smaller than 5 gallons, where a 10 gallon is best. It needs a sponge filter that has gone through the 6+ week cycle process. There needs to be a heater in that tank set at 82 degrees with no more than 5 inches of water. If none of this has been done, the chances of having fry that will survive is very slim.
