Moving the aquarium?

Question
Hi David--  I hope you can help me out with some suggestions on how to move a tank properly.  I have a 29 US gallon bow front tank that I have had up and running for a bit over a year. It has been maintained well (lots of water changes!) and the only fish that I have lost were a female gold danio given to me by a co-worker who moved away and 3 silver mollies (from a pet store).  The tank currently holds 4 male gold danios, 1 sterba cory (from the co-worker; appears in good health) and 4 neon tetras (from the same pet store as the mollies--started out with 6 of them; 1 was eaten and 1 began swimming strangely and died by the next morning).  My apartment lease is up in a couple of months and I will be moving.   What is the best way to organize the moving of my happy little crew minimizing the stress on them?  The new place will be local--about 30-40 minutes from ny current address.  Any advice will be most helpful. I don't want to have to give away my buddies.  Besides, I promised the sterba that I would get him some cory-friends!

Answer
Hi Kendra: I would put them in a five gallon bucket that is about half full of water and a bubbler. You can get these buckets with the bubbler at walmart of all places.  They use them for live bait.  Save as much of the tank water as you can and move it with you... I suggest in garbage bags/cans and then add it back into the tank.  Hope this helps... dave
