Is this natural?

Ever since i got my redbellied pacu she has been eating rocks.She usually spits them out But I've seen her eat rocks and not spit them back up.She seems to be doing fine right now.Every one says shes still hungry. I feed her two Hikari dried pelets.She eats the both very very quikly.Can you please tell me why she is eating rocks?

cause she is hungry.  Feed her four to five times per day what she will eat in one - two minutes of time.  When she is about 2-3 inches then cut her back to two feedings per day to what she will eat in 3 minutes of time.  Vary her diet as well... brine shrimp, tubiflex worms, etc.  dave
