Question
hi, about a week ago i bout a bunch of new gold fish to put in my tank. 6 of them.2 ranchu's 2 ryukins, 1lion head and a pearl scale. the pearl scale already died. its started about 2 days ago when a black moor died in my tank and was lying in there the whole night i took it out the next morning and noticed that only my new fish had ick on them. not the old ones. i tryed all the medications and stuff but it doesnt seem to work. i was wondering why my old fish didn't get ick on them and only the new ones. the ich is now all over the ranchu's body and starting on the ryukin's and the lionheads tail. what can i do to stop it. what can i do to save my precious! please reply asap. thnx

Answer
Hello,

Keep trying with the medicine! It is important that you use the medicine for the entire recommended treatment period. If by the end of that it has not completely done its job, repeat the treatment cycle.

You should also raise the temperature of your tank a couple of degrees- if possible. You didn't mention if this was a cold water tank or not. If you do have a heater, raising the temperature can help to kill the ick bugs. Don't raise it higher then about 83 F, for your fish.

I hope this helps.

Good-luck,
From Stephanie
